NETHERLANDS ANTILLES CONTINUED. Hans Timmerman, PB2T, President of the
European DX Foundation (EUDXF), announced on the EUDXF Web page Tuesday,
December 16th (edited): “According to Dutch Prime Minister Balkenende,
important agreements to secure the future of the people on the Netherlands
Antilles were made. During (another) Round Table Conference held on 15th
December 2008 an agreement was signed on the future of the Netherlands
Antilles. In 2009 more work has to be done on the execution of the agree-
ments made. Depending on progress a date, will be set for the implementa-
tion of the new structure. There is hope that all will be finalized in
2010. In 2005 it was agreed that Curacao (PJ2) and Sint Maarten (PJ7) will
become autonomous countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands and that
the islands Bonaire (PJ4), Sint Eustatius (PJ5) and Saba (PJ6) will become
Dutch municipalities. DXCC wise, these changes could result in deletion
of two entities (PJ2 and PJ7) and four new entities: Curacao (with status
aparte), Sint Maarten (with status aparte), Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and
Saba.”

NOW WAIT A SECOND! Those who like to be on time will have to wait a
second for on New Year’s Eve before ringing in the New Year on Wednesday.

Re: HAMRADIO_LY: nemaloni staigmena paste

Aciu uz puikia ideja Gintai,

Mano paste turiu tokia simpatiska YL Jurgita, kuria kartais pavaisinu kava

Manau po CQ WW as eisiu eilini karta su ja kur nors.
Pabusiu “snipas” ir pranesiu “slapta” informacija tiems kas to pageidaus.
Manau problemu nekils, nes bent iki siol su ja nebuvo.
Gal tik pasto virsininke turi ta info? Tada jau bus sudetingiau, nes ji ne

Nenustebkite, kad LY5W nera paminetas QSL-biuro ataskaitose, nes savo QSL
atiduodu vienam zmogui is Vilniaus. Jis toliau rupinasi ju likimu. Ka pats
tiesiai, ka per Sauliu LY2MQ, ka i QSL biura.
Del direct serviso, apie kuri rasiau anksciau, ko gero susilaikysiu, nes
manau anksciau-veliau busiu apkaltintas, kad kazko nenusiunciau, o
apmokejima gavau.
Aciu LY2BET, LY3A, LY1CX uz supratima. Gal geriau pranesiu, ka zadu siusti

KP5, DESECHEO ISLAND (Press Release #2, November 23rd - DXpedition Dates
Announced). “The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service has notified the team that
February 12-26, 2009, will be the dates allocated for the radio operation.
These dates are coordinated with other USFWS research activities scheduled
on other parts of Desecheo Island as well as scheduling USFWS security
personnel for the camp.
Fifteen operators will be allowed on the island at any given time. A
total of 6-8 stations will be operational, including 160-6 meters.

A reconnaissance trip to Desecheo is scheduled for Friday, December 19th.
Three team members, USFWS personnel and an UXO (unexploded ordnance)
expert will sweep and clear the assigned area of UXO and other hazards.
There will be no radio operations.

The 15-man team will assemble in Puerto Rico on February 8, 2009, for
mandatory UXO training. The next three days will include team operations
training, and last minute preparation and staging of the several tons of
equipment for transport. On February 12th, landing will commence and two
stations will be immediately activated. Likewise, stations will continue
to operate until the final moments before departure on February 26th.

Halfway through the operation, on February 19th, approximately half of
the operating team will be replaced with fresh operators for the final week.

The team has been diligently planning antennas and propagation paths to
take advantage of every possible band opening to Asia, where Desecheo is
#2 on the Most Wanted List and to Europe, where it is #3 on the Most
Wanted List.

Contributions are being solicited. To assist us and for the latest news,

NEW HA-IPARC AWARD AVAILABLE. Gab, HA3JB, informs OPDX that a new “HA-IPARC
(Hungarian-International Police Association) Award” is available by only
making 3 different QSOs with the callsigns listed on the HA-IPARC Web site.
For details on the award, visit: www.ha3jb.com/award.html
Also, a new online log search is available at: www.ha3jb.com/onlinelog
ADDED NOTE: Gab states that the CN2IPA QSL will be out soon. Those who send
for a QSL, please write your E-mail address on your card, and he will advise
you by E-mail when your QSL arrives.

OD, LEBANON. Salvo, IV3YIM, is now active as OD5/IVV3YIM until April
20th (2009). Activity is expected to be 80-10 meters using SSB with a
possibility of some CW, RTTY, PSK and operations on 160/30/17/12/6 meters.
QSL via IV3YIM, by the Bureau or direct to: Salvo Vitale, P.O. BOX 52,
Gorizia, ITALY ZIP 34170.

OX, GREENLAND. Operators Ian/G3WVG and Nigel/G3TXF plan to operate as
OX5AA during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 29-30th) as a Multi-2 entry
from the club station in Kangerlussuaq (Sondre Stromfjord) on the westcoast

PG6, THE NETHERLANDS (Special Event). Operators Peter/PA8A, Fred/PA8F and
Rob/PA3GVI will once again activate the big array, formerly used to
broadcast “Radio Netherlands”, with the special callsign PG6G between
1200z, November 27th and 1200z, November 28th. The array antenna is a

POSSIBLE PIRATE. Ken, G4RWD (ex-ZF1WD), reports that the a “ZF1WD has
been spotted on the DXCluster recently with QSL information stated as
‘via G4RWD’, which is incorrect. Whilst I have operated several times
in the past as ZF1WD, I have not been there since 2002, neither did I
keep the license up to date due to the cost involved. I can only assume
that the callsign ZF1WD has either been re-issued by the Cayman licensing
authorities, or that this is a pirate operation. I can’t find any reference
to this current ZF1WD operation, so I assume the latter.”

QSL INFO AND NEWS…………………
QSL Routes. Johannes, DK8JB, reports that an interesting link to visit
for QSL routes that date back to 1987 is: f6gcp.free.fr/Base/

DO YOU HAVE THE CORRECT ROUTE? George, K6GT, Northern California Contest
Club’s (NCCC) QSL Manager/Station Trustee for the club’s callsign K6ZM,
informs OPDX that he has been receiving several QSL requests for cards
for 8P9AG. The original holder of K6ZM, Phil Frazier, passed away in
1991, and he had used the 8P9AG callsign on a trip to 8P-land in the
’80’s. Clearly, since his key has been silent since 1991, he has not
had any 8P operations since then. Apparently, Andy, DL9USA, was reissued
the callsign and was active at the end of 2007. QSLs for that operation
should go to DL9USA at: Andreas Glaeser, PF 100 246, 03122 Spremberg,
Germany.

DID YOU WORK KP4AO on November 23rd? Special event station KP4AO was
activated by the A.R.C. Arecibo Observatory. Activity was to celebrate
45 years of operations at the Arecibo Observatory Radio Telescope. For
every QSL received, a certificate will be issued. It would be desired
for a #10 BUSINESS SIZE SASE to be included with your QSL.

and leave a day later. I will change my flight to arrive a day earlier
to allow me to start unpacking and setting up. Urgently, E-mail me if
this suits any of you.” If any of you are interested, let him know at:

says, as nowadays 9M4 callsigns are issued for special event or
club stations in West Malaysia (9M2), Sabah (9M6) and Sarawak
(9M8).

9M6 - Steve, 9M6DXX and John, 9M6XRO will be active as 9M6DXX/p and
